About Think.

Hi guys.

This is the pitch deck I made for my Think. campaign for Still Thinking. Let me tell you a lil story on how I came up with it.

So boom, I have been stuck on how to introduce the publication to the world. I’m thinking, Do I jump in? Should I make a video introducing the publication? Say nothing? The first issue was not supposed to be Doing Nothing, it was supposed to be ( ) but no way. I quite literally put the initial drop in an archive. I’ll get back to that. The most exciting part for me was the process of it.

I have been researching for a loooong time. Inspiration did not strike, girl. Once I figured out the layout and concept of the first issue, I went on looking for magazine clips from back in the day just to find something that I liked. I found Apple’s Think Different. Campaign that began in 1997, I was completely in awe. There’s an entire website, my favorite part is the manifesto. I published Still Thinking’s Manifesto a few months ago and you know my everything is a sign ass was all over the fact that Steve Jobs had one too. I thought doing something like that for Still Thinking with people in completely unrelated fields was the perfect way to highlight the main idea of the publication. Use your brain! Thinking is sexy and it is so cool to do. But most importantly, there is no one way to do so. Some things may work for others, some may not. Everything does shit differently and that is the best part of creating. We neglect the process, forgetting how sacred those moments are when we are looking at the final product.

I knew immediately who I wanted to have a part of this, but I couldn’t just hit them being mad casual. I’m a business woman now. So I created this pitch deck to send out to everyone. Since this was inspired by Apple I thought well I think my desktop setup is nice, why not just copy that? So that’s what I did.

For reference I will put my actual desktop screensaver below this. I really appreciate good use of negative space. You’ll see in future designs, minimalism pours over into my creative work just as much as it pours into my everyday life. In my opinion, when you’re creating something with such heavy pathos it is best to keep the other elements simple, as a way to balance the emotional response. I do everything for an emotional response.

Thank you for reading, I hope your day goes well. xx

With Gratitude,
